The author | Marina Michailidou-Kadi was born and brought up in Limassol. She studied Psychology at the University of Boston and then got her Master’s in environmental administration at the University of Cornell in the United States. She is involved in writing stories for children that deal with a variety of social and environmental issues. Her books have been nominated for prizes and translated into many languages.

Renia Metallinou was born and brought up in Corfu. She studied graphic arts and worked for a variety of magazines and newspapers. She has participated in many local and foreign exhibitions. Since 2015 she has been exclusively involved in illustration for children’s books in Greece and abroad. She is a member of IBBY and was selected for the World Illustration awards for children in 2017.

The author | Marianna Koumarianou was born in Cardiff, Whales (1980) and lives in Athens. She works as an educator and writes articles and book reviews in both printed and digital magazines. She is also a poet and a children’s storyteller, winner of the 2014 Debut Writer Award of the Greek Section of IBBY.

The authors | Konstantina Armeniakou studied Pre-primary Education and holds a master’s degree on Linguistics. She works as a teacher and she is a member of the European network of Teachers for Europe and the European action eTwinning and has been awarded by the Ministry of Education of Greece within the framework of the Institution of Excellence and Innovative Practices.

Efthymia Andrioti studied Pre-primary Education and holds a master’s degree on Historical Research, Teaching and New Technologies. She works as a teacher and participates in innovative educational programs and European actions that promote the love of reading. She has written twelve educational books (collective works) for adults and children of preschool and elementary school age.

The author | Marivita Grammatikaki was born in Chania on the island of Crete. She won a scholarship to study the viola at the Athens Conservatory and has worked with the orchestras of both the Greek Third Programme and the National Opera. In parallel with her musical career she has researched and written scripts for children’s television programmes and has written several tales for young readers, amongst them «The Magic Violin», which was staged at the National Opera as a musical for children with great success in May 2011. In 2010 she set up a folk tale workshop focussing on personal experiences, where she teaches both primary school children and their teachers the arts of folk tales and music as means of therapy, communication and developing creativity.
