The book | Sassi, a cat with a story to tell, takes us on a fascinating journey through history and art. We follow in the pawprints of our beloved feline companions across the centuries, exploring distant eras, difficult times shrouded in mystery, and the golden chapters of our shared history with cats.

The stories, which trace the lives of cats through the ages, are accompanied by illustrations created by the author herself, inspired mainly by museum collections.

The author | Alexandra Seleli studied Archaeology, Art History, and Museology, and has been studying painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts since 2022. She works on educational programmes, workshops, and exhibitions. She loves nature, history, museums, colours, books, and, of course, cats. Her first children's book, Like a cat with nine lives – 17 stories about Recycling-Reducing-Reusing, received the Greek State Award for Children's Non-Fiction 2025. The book was also included in The White Ravens 2025, the annual selection of outstanding children's and young adult books from around the world compiled by the International Youth Library in Munich.
